What to do Before a Spray Tan
Do you know what to do before a spray tan session? We all know how harmful is to expose your skin to the sun rays nowadays, to get the desired glowing skin we are looking for. A much healthier solution is to do a spray tanning as it doesn’t harm the skin giving a natural-looking faux glow look. If you are about to get a spray tan, INKATAN has some tips about the do’s and dont’s before and after you get a spray tan.
First. Avoid deodorant usage before your spray tan appointment. The deodorant components act as a barrier to the spray tan lotion absorption. That being said, avoid moisturizer prior to having a spray tan as well.
Second. If you have body hair, wax or shave at least 24 hours before a spray tan session. Hair removal after a spray tan will definitely remove the tan. Also, don’t get wet for 1–2 hours after a spray tan session. If you were hoping to get a spray tan and go to a pool party afterward, schedule your spray tan appointment as we suggested, 24 hours before. Chlorinated water will exfoliate the spray tan as the chemicals will interfere with the spray tan process.
Third. If you have planned something to do after your spray tan appointment, try to wear dark, loose clothes to avoid staining lighter or colored clothes. Also, if you want to go to the gym, do it earlier than your spray tan session. Avoid activities that will cause excessive perspiration at least for 12 hours after your spray tan.
Fourth. Your INKATAN professional will tell you exactly when you can shower depending on the level of pigment depth and your own skin requirements. However, when you shower to remove the coloring excess, avoid using soap and shower only with warm water to rinse off the excess tanning coloring.
Finally, maintain your skin moisturized after your spray tan. This will increase the tan longevity and help you avoid the wearing off patches due to dry skin.
